CBD And Anxiety

Let' s talk about something that affects 18.1% of the US population. Anxiety disorders are the most common mental illness in the Unites States, affecting 40 million Americans. Recent studies have shown that CBD can reduce anxiety, but more research is needed.

CBD is becoming increasingly popular. More and more, it's being stocked on store shelves across the world. And as a CBD producer, we have no limit in creating ways to mix it into our food, drinks and topicals.

As of now, we are not clear on how CBD helps anxiety. Some research shows that it may work by affecting the serotonin levels in the brain. Serotonin is a chemical in your body that plays a role in our behavior, mood, sleep and digestion.

Research (NLOM) suggests that increasing serotonin levels can help anxiety. Certain medicines, such as anti-depressants, work by regulating serotonin levels. Some studies (NCBI, PMC Labs) suggest that CBD may work similarly to anti-depressant and anti-anxiety medications.

A 2011 study (nature.com), showed that CBD reduced anxiety and discomfort during public speaking in people with social anxiety disorder. There's a 2015 study (NCBI), that found evidence that suggests CBD could help with generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, social anxiety disorder and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

You may be wondering, is there a certain dose you should take for anxiety. Well every body is different. So no, there is no right answer here. Most people find that taking doses of 300mg or higher are effective.

As for my personal experience, I have a minimum of 10mg of CBD in my system everyday. Because everyday, I have a cup of CBD coffee. And I've noticed a dramatic change in my stress level. I'm a person who has road rage, and after about a month of drinking CBD coffee everyday, I noticed it has disappeared.

The FDA has not approved these statements, but from personal experience, it has significantly reduced my stress.

If you are on medication, consult with your physician before using CBD.
